Technical figures on this site are drawn from the manufacturer’s documentation, including the SlideGlass 20 assembly instruction, general appraisal certificate VT 21-166P, and the structural report by Dr. Lüchinger+Meyer Bauingenieure AG. Where a figure has a different origin, we say so.
Certification
The general appraisal certificate (AbP) VT 21-166P is issued under German building regulations (Rhineland-Palatinate). Fall protection performance is stated with reference to SIA 358, a Swiss standard, and DIN 18008-4 category A.
These are European approvals. They do not constitute approval under the National Building Code of India or any Indian state or municipal building regulation. Compliance with local requirements at your project location is a matter for your architect, structural consultant and the relevant approving authority. We will supply the manufacturer’s documentation to support that assessment.
Wind and structural performance
Wind class ratings are stated as tested by the manufacturer. Whether a given wind class is adequate for your site depends on building height, exposure, terrain category and local wind speed as determined under IS 875 (Part 3). This is a matter for a qualified structural engineer. Nothing on this site is a structural design.
Weather performance
The system is a windbreak and privacy screen. It is not represented as a sealed or weatherproof enclosure. Statements about use during rain describe the system’s general purpose and are not a warranty of water tightness under any particular condition.
Coastal and marine environments
Aluminium components are corrosion resistant. Performance in high-salinity coastal environments depends on the finish specified, distance from the shoreline and maintenance regime. Specific guidance for coastal installations should be requested from us in writing before specification.
Technical downloads
The standard details (PDF and DXF) and the BIM model (IFC) offered on this site are indicative geometry only and are not for construction. They are provided to assist early-stage design coordination.
They show nominal dimensions and do not represent fixings, anchor layout, the gas spring mechanism, glass build-up, tolerances or interfaces with the supporting structure. Certain dimensions in them are derived from the manufacturer’s drawings by interpretation rather than being stated figures, and are marked as such within the files.
Do not use these files for structural design, anchor specification, fabrication or as a basis for construction. Verify every dimension with us in writing before specifying. We accept no liability for loss arising from reliance on them.
Images and visualisations
Photographs show installations completed in Switzerland and elsewhere. Illustrations on this site are diagrammatic. In the configurator, the balcony view is a backdrop and the SlideGlass drawn on it is an illustration; the glass and frame finishes shown are approximations. Finishes vary in appearance under different light and between production batches.
Top glass
The fixed top panes offered in the configurator, running from above the windbreak to the ceiling, are quoted separately and sit outside the certified SlideGlass® assembly. Their suitability for a given balcony is confirmed on survey.
